A brief loss of consciousness while driving is a common cause of emergency admission which leads patients to be sent to cardiology or neurology departments for further examination. However, the aetiology sometimes seems to show that the patient fell asleep while driving. This clinical case clearly indicates that an item “sleep disorders” should be added in the decision-making tree of the emergency department for victims of a traffic accident.
